According to Weather.com, it's supposed to be 9o degrees in our hometown of Alturas, Florida, today, so I thought I would post a refreshing, cool-you-down sort of post from January up here in Arkansas.
These are videos taken of "The Great Ice Storm of 2009." I am just now figuring out how to get them to play. I'm sure y'all are very impressed by my computer prowess.
The Millers are always on the cutting edge of technology, like posting videos-can you believe it-on their blog, but our high-tech sled outshines all the rest of those new-fangled inventions!
Can anyone guess what they are actually sliding down the driveway in? If you guessed a wheelbarrow without the wheel, you, dear reader, are correct! Only in Arkansas, my friends...only in Arkansas.

WHAT FUN!! (except for the coughing baby sound track!) And big brothers always have to add their two cents' worth: "Stay in the rut!" Well, that was fun. Thanks!
Love,
Mother
The kids said when you first moved up there and they were picking rocks out of the driveway how fun it would be to slide down it, if it snowed. Looks like they were right!! Hope you had extra fun to share with us, since we weren't able to make it for the big "Arkansas Ice Storm".
Actually, I was impressed by your computer savyness:)
Enjoy your cool weather while we're down here melting, meellltiiing, meeeeellllllttttiiinng!!
forget the "actually". That makes absolutely no sense. I should learn to read my comments before posting. I've written some doozies.
Looks like you had "loads" of fun! Ha! Ha!
We can always count on the Millers for some ingenious inventions. Necessity IS the mother of invention, huh?
Miss you all!
Love,
Aunt Molly
PS R.G. - Who is singing that song about the South when this blog opens up? It is kind of pretty. What is the name of it?
Aunt Molly,
It's by the Bellamy Brothers. Ask Uncle Chris about them. They hail from north of Tampa, kind of near Sumterville.
Mama says they're sleazy, but she allows this one song, because she thinks it's pretty too, and it accurately describes the Southland.

We're enjoying all of the updates! Looks like fun!
Only in Arkansas or only the Millers? :)
Love,
Amanda
